Business Innovation
The idea is still king.
Something amazing is actually happening in business. “Business as usual” has taken a significant turn as many of the norms practiced over the last six decades no longer apply. The 21st century rewards more than just managing. It rewards innovation.
Let’s face facts: it’s time to find new ways to make money. Think of it as a new chapter in your success. I offer you a unique combination of talent to bring you something much more powerful than textbook ideas. It’s part innovation. Part inspiration. And part marketing expertise.
The old paradigm, which relied heavily on depth of knowledge and logical, linear thinking has evolved into one that rewards inventiveness, good judgement, and speed. Connecting people and ideas and delivering real value to the market is the basis for our new and emerging economy.
Which meeting would you rather attend?
Meeting 1 — Business-as-usual
You walk into a meeting. People are professional and courteous. Some people have their heads down while they focus on something while other people are quietly and politely talking. The meeting begins. Everyone being talked to is silent except the person talking or presenting. There’s a handout or something on the screen. People are paying attention. The meeting ends, there is a recommendation made or a conclusion reached. People quietly go back to their desks. Maybe there is an email or two follow-up. There may even be a follow-up meeting. Something moves forward.
Meeting 2 — Business Innovation
You walk into a meeting. People are smiling, talking to each other and engaged. The friendly energy draws you in. The meeting begins. A person starts talking. Several people interrupt. The energy is intense because of a challenge the group is facing. Someone passionately asserts a new idea. People listen, debate and joke around. Another person challenges an assumption. More discussion takes place. The direction of the conversation and the enthusiasm in the room moves the group to understand what the next steps need to be. The meeting concludes. Some people go back to their desks chatting while others continue the conversation in smaller groups. Business moves forward with new and unexpected ideas emerging.
